The Florida certification examinations reference the 2023 National Electrical Code, and the approved list dates the 2026 edition to take over on 21 August 2027. This page holds no table values, but the sections it names are the 2026 numbers.
The article level moves are concentrated at the two ends of the book: Chapter 1 took in load calculations from Article 220 and energy management from Article 750, and the limited energy and communications material was rebuilt across the 720s. Ampacity, overcurrent, grounding, motors and boxes kept their articles, and Chapter 9 is still the tables.
What it does
24 questions, no clock, and you can stop and lose nothing except the run. Have your code book to hand. Every question supplies whatever value you would have looked up, so what is being scored is the method rather than your index tabs.

How much three questions can tell you
Three items to an area is enough to rank the eight areas against each other and not enough to grade any one of them. An area you genuinely know 70 percent of comes back at one right out of three, or none, about one run in five, on the draw alone. Read the order first and the number second.
The overall figure carries roughly 9 points of sampling error on 24 items, so treat 65 and 74 as the same result.
What it is not
It is not a prediction of your exam result and it is not scored the way you will be scored. The Florida trade examinations are 100 questions in five hours, the business examination is 50 questions in two and a half hours, and both are passed at 75 percent. This is 24 questions written for this site and arranged three to an area so that the areas can be compared.
It is not weighted like the exam either, and that is the point of it. 15 of these 24 items sit in the calculation areas. The real technical paper is one hundred questions in five hours. Equal weight per area is what makes the comparison between areas fair, and it is also what stops the overall figure from standing in for an exam score.
The line across each meter marks 75 percent, which is what each of the Florida business and technical sections is passed at. It is there so an area is read against something. It is not a verdict on these 24 questions.

Conductor sizing and derating
The marks go on the order of operations rather than the lookup. Correction and adjustment both apply and they multiply, and a termination rating can cap a figure you worked out correctly.

Raceway and box fill
Box fill and conduit fill are counting exercises wrapped around rules about what counts as what. Most losses are in the count, not the arithmetic.
Load calculations
A load calculation is long, and a long calculation fails at the step you skipped rather than the step you got wrong. Work the same sequence every time until it is boring.
Motor circuits
Motor circuits pull from different tables for different jobs, and the overload device and the short-circuit device are sized by different rules from different starting numbers.

Electrical theory
Theory is quick marks when the formula is automatic and slow marks when it is not. These are the items to be fast on so the long ones get the minutes.
Grounding and bonding
The most confused pair of ideas in the trade, and the questions are written knowing that. Get the two words separated first and a lot of items answer themselves.
